Solar Opposites Season 2 is happening for real! The fans of planet Shlorp got an exclusive first look at Season 2 during the show’s Comic-Con at Home panel.
The American animated sitcom debuted on 8th May 2020. Popular animated show “Rick and Morty” ‘s co-creator Justin Roiland and Mike McMahan are the creators of this show as well. The show was created for Fox Broadcasting Company originally, but it got shelved. It then aired on Hulu. The show was originally planned for two seasons. But this year it got renewed for a third season as well.
Release Date of “Solar Opposites Season 2”
Ever since the show premiered in May this year, fans have been waiting for news of the second season. The show was originally to run for two seasons with eight episodes each. Owing to the popularity of the show got a renewal in June 2020 for a third season which will have 12 episodes.
Although we are yet to know of an official date for the premiere, the second season will debut sometime around 2021.
The Plot of the Show
The show revolves around a family of aliens from a better world who must take refuge in middle America.
Executive producer Josh Bycel in a Comic-Con at Home panel said that there is interesting class stuff in the second season premiere next year.
He assured that things are only going to get weirder from there. There is an episode where the alien partner Terry and Korvo’s addiction to onions. Then there is an episode where Terry is obsessed with dinner parties and Korvo is terrible at dinner parties and says all the wrong things.
Bycel further promised that the next two seasons will have a lot more diverse character pair-ups. Co-creator Mike McMahan said that there will be an eventual exploration of the 99 other Shlorpian families that were sent to find replacement planets throughout the galaxy.
According to McMahan, the third season pickup did a really helpful thing for them as they have already written Season 2 while anticipating that they would get a Season 3.
