Ever since season one of the hit show concluded, fans all over the world have been waiting for news of “Itaewon Class Season 2”. the show is one of the most-talked-about Korean dramas of 2020.
The show is based on a webtoon of the same name. Showbox, the film distribution company produces the show and this is the company’s first drama series. Kim Do-soo is the developer of the drama series, Gwang Jin is the writer and Kim Sung-Yoon is the director. The show premiered on JTBC in Korea on 31st January 2020. The show is streaming globally on Netflix.
Release Date of “Itaewon Class Season 2”
The show concluded on 21st March 2020 and fans have been waiting eagerly ever since for the second season. Unfortunately, the show is yet to be renewed by the network.
But there have been lots of rumors doing the round for a possible second season. Also, with the high popularity of the show, a second season seems plausible. Although, given the current situation around the globe, it is unlikely that the show will return before 2021 or even 2022.
The Plot of the Show
The show follows Park Sae-Ro-Yi. His life turned upside down after he got expelled from school for punching a bully and his father died in an accident caused by Geun-won. Sae Ro-Yi attacked Geun-won in anger and grief, which led to him being imprisoned for three years. After he gets his freedom back, all he wants is to follow in his father’s footsteps and open a pub franchise called DanBam. He wants to start the pub in Itaewon and turn it into the biggest food company in Korea so that he can seek revenge from his rivals.
Although the announcement for a second season is yet to come, the season might introduce and explore a romantic angle between the characters of Oh Soo-Ah and Park Bo-Gum.
