Indian external minister met with Iran foreign minister and discussed the situation of the Chabbar, Afghanistan. Yes, S Jaishanker on Tuesday flew to Iran and discussed with the foreign minister Javed Zarif about the Chabbar port project. They also discussed the ongoing situation in Afghanistan. But this meeting was just the coincidental. As S Jaishanker was on his way to Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Foreign Minister’s meeting on Monday, but made a technical halt in Iran for refueling the airplane.
However, no matter what’s the cause, two ministers visiting Iran back to back reflect only one thing, that India is looking for stronger ties with Iran. It is standing with Iran during the tough times. As Defence Minister Rajnath Sing had also visited Tehran two days before the visit of the External Affairs Minister S Jaishanker. And of tough times the visits are in the time of strained ties between the US and Iran. The time when China is trying to grab a space in sanctions-hit Iran. So, the visits have really a good political front.
Reason Of The S Jaishanker Visit To Tehran
India is committed to the Chabbar Port project and according to the sources, India had even allocated a 100 crore for the project in this year Budget. And the allocation shows India’s desire to be part of the projects. But the government is taking into account all the diligence before committing to the project.
And India had also invested in the condition of Afghanistan. The rise of the wrong power in Afghanistan worries both India and Iran. And on the topic associated with Afghanistan, both Iran and India are on the same page. So, the last two visits of our Ministers in Tehran taken into account all the possible issues regarding the Chabbar Port Project and Afghanistan.
The visits of the Indian ministers had fully welcomed in Tehran.
