Ragnarok Season 2 is official! For all the Norse Mythology fans, it is time to rejoice! The Norwegian drama fantasy series debuted on Netflix on 31st January 2020. SAM Productions which is a Danish production company produces the series. Mogens Hagedorn is the director and Adam Price is the writer of the show.
Release Date of “Ragnarok Season 2”
Unfortunately, we do not have an official release date for the show yet. Although the show is renewed for a second run it is hard to pinpoint an exact date. At this point, we are not even sure if the filming has begun yet. Our best bet is early 2021 owing to the fact that the first season was released in January 2020. But again given the current circumstances the production and filming of the series can take longer than anticipated.
The Plot of the Series
While Marvel fans are eagerly waiting for “Thor: Love and Thunder”, Netflix provided us with our own Norse mythological drama. This show also revolves around the God of Thunder but instead of the extremely charming and impressive physique of Chris Hemsworth, we get to see a teenage boy.
The show takes place in the Norwegian town of Edda (fictional) in Western Norway. The town is which is plagued by climate change and industrial pollution caused by the factories owned by the local Jutul family. The family is the fifth-richest family in Norway. The Jutuls in reality are four Jotunn, frost giants and giantesses who are posing as a family in Edda. They are challenged by Magne, a teenage boy who is surprised to learn that he is the embodiment of Thor, the God of Thunder. He begins the fight against those that are destroying the planet.
Though the plot of the second season is yet to be revealed, we are hoping Magne will continue his war against the evil. Also, we can hope to see an angle where Magne’s brother Laurits turns out to be Loki, the God of Mischief. He can go on playing the new villain in the show. Now, won’t that be interesting!

The series was not well received by certain Norweigan media group. According to them, the show was nonsensical. But the show still holds a good IMDb rating.
