Our favorite and somewhat dysfunctional ultra-Orthodox Jewish family is back! Shtisel Season 3 has got a green signal!
Ori Elon and Yehonatan Indursky are the creators and writers of the series. The Israeli drama television series has 12 episodes per season. It first debuted on yes Oh on 29th June 2013. The series commenced distribution and online streaming via Netflix in the year 2018. Season 3 was also confirmed by writer Indursky in 2019.
Release Date of “Shtisel Season 3”
The announcement for season 3 came in May 2019. Producer Dikla Barkai confirmed on 8th April 2020 that the production was to begin in May 2020 due to the ongoing pandemic. the filming ultimately began in Jun 2020.
We do not have an official date for the premiere of the show yet. Season 3 will be releasing on yes Oh in the later part of 2020 and on Netflix somewhere around 2021.
The show’s star, the Emmy nominated Shira Haas commented that she has given up hope for a third season as the second season was shot almost five years back. She further added that she is really excited to go back to her character Ruchami. The actress also posted a picture of her on Twitter and Instagram story with a script of “Shtisel Season 3”.
The show’s producer Barkai complimented the actress by saying the combination of Hass and Ruchami was magical. Both of them are full of belief. He also added that they will do anything for what they believe in.
The Plot of the Show
The show is about a fictional Jewish family Geula, Jerusalem. The show is set in a religious and internet free neighborhood. The community follows strict Haredi customs. Violating the norms of the customs often causes chaos within the family. Although the main characters who are more open to a secular lifestyle reflect Geula’s moderation in comparison to their neighbors in Mea Shearim.
We are yet to know of a specific plotline. But it will be interesting to see what new chaos follows the lives of Shulem Shtisel, Shulem Shtisel, the Rabbi at the local yeshiva, and their family members.
