Dynasty undeniably ranks as one of Netflix’s most overlooked shows, and it’s not too late to start binge-watching The CW’s fan favorite.
After airing on The CW, the third season started streaming on Netflix this spring but fans are already anxious for news about the release date of the Dynasty season 4, cast and so much more.
Fortunately, Dynasty had already been renewed for its fourth season, ahead of the global health crisis, despite its less than impressive live ratings on the network. The saving grace of the guilty pleasure has always been its international public on Netflix.
The CW has announced that season 4 of the Dynasty will be held for the midseason, rather than with the fall lineup. However, due to the current state of production shutdowns, the wait for both rounds of television series has been postponed.
While there’s still a bit of waiting to be had before more information about Season 4 comes to light, below you’ll find all you need to know about the upcoming fourth season of Dynasty— all that we currently know.
Typically, it doesn’t take more than a few months to wait for turnover between seasons. Production normally resumes after the usual May season finale in mid-to-late summer for an early fall premiere in October. But this coming television season, there is nothing typical, usual or normal about it. There’ll be a lot more waiting between seasons.
Although the CW announced that Dynasty would return midseason, this time around, “midseason” doesn’t necessarily mean January (or early winter). Provided the series can resume production in Atlanta, Georgia sometime late in the autumn, we are looking at a potential spring 2021 premiere date for season 4 on The CW. That, of course, is just a guess, which may be older.
Since season 4 production and premiere has been moved back, viewers can also expect Netflix to drop later in the season as well. One week after their televised finals, several of The CW’s show debut their new seasons on the streamer. Expect the latest episodes next year to start broadcasting at least eight months after they stop screening on the small screen.
If season 4 premieres in April, for example, expect a decline on Netflix in November. Again, these are informed production and release schedules forecasts, but in the coming weeks we should know more details.
Season three just came back in October, but it’s too early to know who’s going to be left standing at the top.
But for the third chapter of the show the following crew returned:
- Elizabeth Gillies as Fallon Carrington
- Grant Show as Blake Carrington
- Rafael de la Fuente as Samuel Josiah “Sammy Jo” Jones
- Robert Christopher Riley as Michael Culhane
