The American crime drama is coming back with The Alienist Season 2. The television series takes its inspiration from Caleb Carr’s novel under the same name. The show first came out in 2018, and ever since then, it has a huge fan following. The Alienist was a receiver of much love and appreciation from its first drop. And fans have been waiting for the second season ever since the end of the first. The show revolves around crime and investigation. In 2018, TNT announced that they would be coming up with a second season. The second season will base itself on the second novel of Carr. It is known as “The Angel of Darkness”. The Alienist Season 2 Release Date
Season 2 will premiere on July 19, 2020. It will air two episodes back to back. The entire season will release on August 2, 2020. It will have eight episodes in total. The release date is one week prior to its July 26 premiere. The show is available on both TNT and Netflix.
However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the release date might get a delay. But we will understand this given the situation. However, as of now, everything is perfectly set for the crime drama to air on August 2.
Cast
We can expect to see the major cast from season 1 return. We will see Dakota Fanning, Daniel Bruhl, and Luke Evans. Other cast members include Douglas Smith playing Marcus Issacson, Robert Ray Wisdom playing Cyrus. Matthew Shear is playing Lucius Issacson, Ted Levine, playing Thomas Byrnes. Ted is the former Police Commissioner of NYPD.
We are not sure if we will see Brian Geraghty or Matt Lintz in season 2. We will also see some new faces. This includes Melanie Field as Rosy MacEwen. The story revolves around crime and investigation. We will see crime cases opening once again. In season 1 we saw Dr. Kreizler along with a reporter Moore accompany Sara. Sara is the founder of a detective agency and she investigates brand new cases. These three together try to find out the daughter of a Spanish Consular. Ana Linares, the daughter as kidnapped. The investigation leads them to the killer dom a sinister path of deceit and murder.
