One of America’s most notched drama shows, Sugar Queen, soon appears on the OWN network for its fifth season. Inspired by Ava DuVernay, under the same title, the show is strongly based on Natalie Baszile ‘s book in 2014. This was the first broadcast on Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) on 6 September 2016 and has since remained in the limelight. It received an overall rating of 8.5 out of 10 and earned the highest viewership. Through the years, the show has won multiple nominations, too. It is the first television show, where all the episodes were produced by all-female producers.
The storyline explores the story of siblings strangled from Bordelon, Nova, and Charley, who are occupied with their own lives. Nova is a New Orleans writer and protester, and Charley is a single woman and mother who resides in Los Angeles. Their father soon dies, and the two sisters inherit their sugar plantation.

Queen Sugar Season 5: Storyline
The show’s plot centers on a three-sibling family. The three travel to Louisiana to claim their deceased father’s succession. He left the 800 acres of sugar cane farm in his will to his son. The three brothers are two daughters-Nova Bordelon, a writer, and Ralph Angel, a single parent who is unemployed. These two have a sister called Charlie, whose friendship with her adolescent son is complicated. Family and society coexist, meaning that a person’s spiritual beliefs can often be influenced by the issues inside a household. So Queen Sugar has a strong following on the streaming site, with all the excitement of a child.
