The upcoming animated series Star Trek: Lower Deck Season 1 is coming on CBS. The network officially announces its making and also releases a trailer. The timeframe is identical to The Next Generation. It will be a comedy series about people who are normally not found on the bridge of a Starfleet ship. Star Trek: Lower Deck Season 1 Release Date

Season 1 of this animated series is going to hit us on August 6. The Star Trek Universe shares trailers and posters confirming that it’s finally happening. The first season will have 10 episodes and it will available weekly on CBS Network. US subscribers of CBS All Access will be able to watch the show every Thursday.
However, the premiere episodes will be available on YouTube. This is for new subscribers. For existing subscribers, the channel has already made the show available on August 13 on their site. The second episode also arrives on the network on the same date and is also available on YouTube. The episodes received 1.25 million views by Saturday afternoon.

Since it is an animated series, it mainly has voiceovers. The voiceover cast includes Tawny Newsome voicing as Ensign Mariner, Jack Quaid voicing Ensign Boimler. Noel Wells voicing as Ensign Tendi and Eugene Cordero voicing as Ensign Rutherford. Along with this we also have Fred Tatasciore voicing as Lieutenant Shaxs, Jerry O’Connell voicing Commander Ransom. The story revolves around a crew on Starfleet’s least important ships. The time frame is around 2380. The name of the ship is U.S.S Cerritos. The confirmation has been given during a press release. There was a classic episode in Star Trek: The Next Generation known as “Lower Decks”. The name here seems to be a call back for that episode. The story is about four junior officers on a mission. It is a great story and also a very influential one. It allows the cast to explore an already existing world in a different perspective.
