Siren is an American drama TV series on Freeform. It has elements of fantasy, thriller, mystery, and your favorite mermaids. Who knew there would be a whole show on the creatures that mostly everybody is fascinated with. Well, Freeform made that dream into reality by giving us the show in 2018. It is an unusual show in every aspect. But, it expresses that when the three main characters are left to engage in an open relationship. This shows the dynamics of dating life in today’s world. The polyamorous relationship is eye-opening and realistic. There is a reason why Forbes called the show Vampire Diaries for mermaids.
Siren is set in the coastal town of Bristol Cove, Washington, where the legends hold that mermaids and mermen live there. The show displays a mermaid coming on the land to avenge her sister’s death. Marine biologists Ben and Maddie work to know her. Gradually, Ben, Maddie, and Ryn consent to work with merpeople to overthrow humanity, which is causing water pollution, making it difficult for sea creatures to live. However, Ted Pownall starts going on a path his great-great-great-grandfather went down. It’s not good.
Will Siren season 4 come into the world?
The show’s followers specifically loved the third season with all its chaos and action. This is what makes Siren season 4 anticipated.
However, unfortunately, Freeform canceled the show after three seasons. The news came officially in August 2020. On the viewers’ front, the news is sad and heartbreaking. However, on the producers’ front, it is logical. The third season averaged only 0.11 rating, and just 410,000 viewers were recorded per episode. They don’t look too terrible. But, when we compare them with the previous seasons, they are. From Season 1, the figures are down 30% and from the second, they are down by 15%. Well, the network did not want to take any chances for the future of the show, so it looks like there won’t be any Siren Season 4.
Maybe Amazon Prime decides to pick the show, considering the two seasons are on there.
