Without a doubt, the Philadelphia Eagles will have to find a way of how they will push for the playoffs without Alshon Jeffery, their best receiver so far. Jeffery will miss the remainder of the season having suffered a foot injury.
Alshon Jeffery had to be carted off during the second quarter of his team Monday overnight win over the New York Giants. During the play, Jeffery came out of the match limping, but on a non-contact situation. However, he was immediately carted off to the club’s locker room for quick medical investigation.
On Tuesday morning, an update was provided by Doug Pederson claiming that Alshon’s injury was “significant.” Alshon has encountered a difficult season having suffered a calf and an ankle injury while playing against the Miami Dolphins.
Now that Alshon Jeffery is out for the rest of the season, the Philadelphia Eagles may have to rely on the services of other receivers in the team, chief among them being Nelson Aglohor. Others are JJ arcega-Whiteside, and Greg Ward.
As it looks, Alshon’s injury is somewhat serious as he will not be available for the next three games or the playoffs either. In fact, there are fears that his injury could extend into the 2020 NFL offseason. But as of now, nobody knows exactly the extend of the injury with some claiming that it might have been some sort of an Achilles injury that has ruled out Jeffery for long.
