Hey There! Thank you for reading my article. Your reviews and comments are most welcome.

Outlander Season 6, is a historical fiction TV series based on the titular novel series by the writer Diana Gabaldon. The show premiered in 2014 on Starz. The first season is based on ‘Cross Stitch.’ The second is based on ‘Dragonfly in Amber’. The third is based on ‘Voyager’. The fourth is based on ‘Drums of Autumn’. The fifth is based on ‘The Fiery Cross’ and the new upcoming season will be based on ‘A Breath of Snow and Ashes’. If the book’s title does not make you wonder, the season definitely will. The show is a complete package including drama, romance, adventure, and fantasy. It is also multilingually available in four languages.

Outlander follows the story of a nurse Claire Randall, who gets mysteriously transported back to 1743 from 1945. She is immediately threatened by a new place and a new country, Scotland. She is forced to marry a chivalrous and handsome young warrior, Jamie. But, she starts falling in love with him and tears her between Jamie and her husband in the future. It blends the lives of the couple in an interestingly epic tale. It has an IMDb rating of 8.4.

The Plot of Outlander Season 6

What can you expect from the sixth season? The fifth season’s ending showed us, Jamie, drawing into the American Revolution. The Frasers were trying to live a happy life in North Carolina. We can safely say that Outlander Season 6 will take after the novel, ‘A Breath of Snow and Ashes’. As per the book, we will see Jamie struggling between his oath to the British Crown and his hope to live a free life in the new world.

However, we cannot say that the entire season will be based on the book. As executive producer, Ronald Moore once said, “Every year we approach it fresh. We want to be free in the writers’ room to pick and choose and do what feels most comfortable that year.” So, we can see twists by the writers. One thing is sure that in Outlander season 6, we will see more of American evolution and the American colonies.

Who will star in the season?

The main cast will be back again.

  • Sam Heughan as James “Jamie” MacKenzie Fraser
  • Caitriona Balfe as Claire Beauchamp Randall/Fraser
  • Sophie Skelton as their daughter Brianna Randall Fraser
  • Richard Rankin as Claire’s husband Roger Wakefield

Release date of Outlander Season 6

In the previous seasons, there was a difference of at least one year between the two seasons. Considering the concluding episode aired on May 10, 2020, we can expect the show to not air until Summer 2021. Coronavirus could have upset the plans further. The filming began in January 2020. The actor Sam Heughan tweeted in January:

When interviewed in June, he said, “I’m hopeful that we’re gonna be back before we know it.” This means that the filming hasn’t resumed yet.

However long it takes, Outlander Season 6 will be amazing and give us the cozy historical vibes that it always has given.
