It revolves around a writer, Arabella who rose to fame after her debut novel Chronicles of a Fed-Up Millennial became popular. She was writing her second book when she decides to take a break from work and goes to meet her friends in London. The following morning changes her life when she tries to place the reality behind what she suffered during the night. She was assaulted after she drank a spiked drink. While coming to terms with her traumatic experience, she comes to reassess other areas in her life, like her friends, her career, and her family.

Can you expect an I May Destroy You Season 2?
I May Destroy You is not a regular entertaining show. It is deep, educating, and thought-provoking. Actor Paapa Essiedu explained in an earlier interview that the show does not need a second season. He said, “That’s not how trauma works. We never eviscerate things that have happened to us. Unless we’re sitting in denial, we’ve got to live with the events of our lives.”
Harriet Webb said, “I think what’s really interesting is that people have fallen in love with the characters so they want to see more of them. I’d be surprised, but also anything is possible.”
The statements of these actors insinuate that there was never any talk about the continuation of the show. We completely agree with that because writing and showcasing your traumatic experience is definitely not easy. We can’t bank on someone else’s pain unless they themselves choose to give us that.
