Facebook loses its position on Glassdoor’s list of best places to work by 16 spots falling to the 23rd position.

For many years, Facebook has been on Glassdoor’s list of the best places to work in the world. However, the most current list by Glassdoor revealed that the company’s ranking has dropped from the 7th position to the 23rd position. Note that this is the second time the company has fallen in the last two years. As it fell by 16 spots, the company’s desirability ranking reduced from 4.5 to 4.4.

Facebook Falls 16 Points on Glassdoor’s List

The recent list by Glassdoor reveals that Facebook employees are no longer as excited to work on Facebook as they used to be. These employees anonymously participated in the survey on the website. While Facebook is now in the 23rd position, HubSpot is in the first position. Bain & Company is in second place and DocuSign is in third place. Before Facebook fell to the 7th position last year, it was among the top three. The fall came right after the Cambridge Analytica data scandal.

This time, it’s possible that Facebook is losing its edge due to the increase in regulatory pressure regarding the same antitrust issues. The company has been having difficulty recruiting software engineers and college graduates since the Cambridge Analytica scandal. People are now afraid to be associated with the tech giant and those working there no longer see the job as fulfilling.

Glassdoor interviewed some of the Facebook employees. Some said that working in the company is now extremely slow when it comes to privacy-related decisions. Some others said that they have been unable to find a work-life balance while working on high profile cases because they are extremely political.

It is important to note that even if Facebook has fallen from the 7th position on Glassdoor, its work desirability ranking is still above 3.5, the official average.
