The American Sci-fi television series is coming back with Star Trek: Picard season 2. For the Star Trek franchise, this is the eight season. Star Trek: Picard Season 2 Release Date
There is no official confirmation about the release date from the makers just yet. However, we know that the show will have ten episodes. The confirmation for the second season came out even before the premiere of season 1. But due to the global coronavirus pandemic, there is no exact date. The production is also currently on hold like most other series. We can expect the show to launch somewhere around 2021. It will be available on Amazon Prime.
Cast
The cast will remain more or less the same as season 1. We will see Patrick Stewart reprising his role as Jean-Luc Picard. This is because he already confirms that he is going to be a part of the show for a very long time. We will also see Isa Briones playing Soji Asha, Evan Evagora, playing Elnor.
The other cast who survived season 1 will be in season 2. This includes Alison Pill playing Agnes Jurati, Michelle Hurd, playing Raffi Musiker. Santiago Cabrera is playing Christobal Rios (Chris) and Harry Treadaway as Narek. Whether or not all the Next Generation characters will return is not known yet. However, we will see our favorite Whoopi Goldberg returning as Guinan.
Star Trek: Picard Season 2 Plot
The story revolves around Jean-Luc Picard, who is an admiral. The story follows his retirement from Starfleet. In the first season, we saw Picard’s demons from the past. In Star Trek Nemesis, we saw the demise of Commander Data. We also saw the repose of the Federation regarding the devastation of Romulus.
There is no proper revelation for the plot just yet. But we can expect it to follow Picard in the second season. We will also see his potent and loyal crew. We will surely see them facing various challenges that come their way.
