In 2018, DCEU’s Aquaman released leaving us surprised with its success. The fans did not know what to expect with this character getting his own live-action space, especially after not-so-beautiful Justice League’s performance. However, everybody was stunned at the work Warner Bros put into the movie. Aquaman stands as the biggest worldwide earner in the entire history of DC Comics adaptations. The excitement and buzz that the first film created was huge. This induced Warner Bros to think about the future of the franchise.
So, let’s talk about what will it be. Who will make it? Who will star in it?
The Plot
Going back to Aquaman, the first movie was deep and well-written. The world of Atlantus was explored by Arthur Curry, half-human, and half-Atlantean. The movie showed the best trip of his life, where he did not just go into the ocean, but also discovered the rest of his life’s destination. We saw him fighting for the throne against his half-brother Orm. The movie ended with Aquaman emerging as Atlantis’ King and him finally embracing his destiny.
Aquaman 2 will have stories about Black Manta and Ocean Mater. But, other than that, we can also see some questions answered, like Why did Volka help Arthur in becoming a king? Are Atlanteans immortal? Because we saw Aquaman being injured several times, but he turned out to be just fine every time. Maybe, we will also see Mera and Aquaman fighting the Trench again. Or maybe, Orn will flee the jail. Who knows? We have more than 75 ears of Aquaman’s history in DC, anything can happen.
The Cast and Crew of Aquaman 2
Let’s talk about the crew first. We are fans of director James Wan’s work. His films are work of art, be it horror Insidious or Conjuring, or action Furious 7. We definitely loved Aquaman. However, James has a reputation of not sticking around for the sequels. He likes creating new worlds. His current project is Malignant. We hope that Warner Bros bring him back because he was the one who kept the movie PG-13 and that is what led to the burst of the movie’s views.

Release date
Warner Bros announced the release date of Aquaman 2 as December 16, 2022. One must wonder why it’s taking four years for the sequel to come out. There are currently quite a few projects that DC Extended Universe has up its sleeve until 2022 like The batman, Shazam 2, and Black Adam. However, when Aquaman 2 will come out, we expect it to break its previous records.
