Narcos lovers, rejoice. If three seasons of the original series followed by two of Mexico’s adaptations have not entirely fulfilled your appetite for the drug-filled story sequence, Narcos: Mexico season 3 would most likely provide you with a fresh dose of anticipation in the near future.

The show was released on Netflix on 16 November 2008. It was initially intended to carry the Narcos show on Netflix, but the fourth season of this was added to Netflix in some other form.
The show centers around the illegal drug trade in Mexico, close to the parent series based on the illicit drug trade in Colombia. Then the second season was released on Netflix on 5 December 2018 and premiered on 13 February 2020.
Narcos: Mexico Release Date
While we don’t have a reported date for the season 3 premiere, we can expect the launch in 2022. So, there were 15 months of suspense between the launch of the first season on 16 November 2018 and the release of the second season on 13 February 2020. If the same period of time passes before the third season premiere, we may predict the start of May 2021 at the earliest. Nonetheless, considering the latest COVID-19 pandemic of shutting down film and TV production worldwide, we are most likely looking at a wait of several months, pushing the season 3 premiere back to early 2022.
How do we know that season 3 has already started to film? In a May cover story for Rolling Stone magazine, Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny (Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio), who will star in a supporting role in the third season, announced that the series was filming in Mexico shortly before the pandemic began in February.

Narcos: Mexico Plot
Although the third season of Narcos is still to be confirmed, there are some clues as to what the famous series could have next. The second season of the series concluded with Felix Gallardo (played by Diego Luna) as the drug trafficker was convicted.
Nonetheless, as viewers learn about the past of the series, Gallardo has been running his cartel from jail since the 1990s. The series also saw the rise of Amado Carrillo Fuentes (José María Yazpic) in the Mexican drug world.
