Cursed took a little-known figure from the legend of King Arthur and re-imagined her as the hero of the story. Katherine Langford’s Nimue, also known as the legendary Lady of the Lake, is the keeper of the Sword of Power in Cursed. Based on Tom Wheeler and Frank Miller ‘s novel, Netflix’s live-action adaptation is full of courageous battles, sinister monsters, epic adventures, and discovery.
Season 1 of Cursed concluded on a huge cliffhanger, whereby Nimue was attacked by Sister Iris, a scheming Red Paladin sympathizer. Today she ‘s practically the Lady of the Lake, although it’s impossible to find out whether or not Nimue is still alive. Despite many of Season 1’s storylines left unresolved, but still setting up the real identities of other characters (Lancelot, Guinevere, and Percival), Cursed set the tone for a thrilling Season 2.
Cursed Season 2 Release Date
Unknown at the moment, but it may be a little longer than some Netflix shows. The pandemic could have production postponed for some time, given that the scripts are already on their way.
However, given that Netflix Greenlit Cursed before the original novel was published, and that Wheeler and Miller had already created the TV show, it is possible that the streaming service will have a bit of an inside track on any potential plot, potentially launching season two and a second book at the same time.
Anyway, it wouldn’t be a shock to see people waiting for the next season for more than a year.
Cursed Season 2 Cast
Anyone who didn’t die in Cursed Season 1 would be returning in a possible second season. Including:
- Katherine Langford as Nimue
- Devon Terrell as Arthur
- Gustaf Skarsgård as Merlin
- Daniel Sharman as Weeping Monk / Lancelot
- Sebastian Armesto as Uther Pendragon
- Lily Newmark as Pym
- Peter Mullan as Father Carden
- Shalom Brune-Franklin as Igraine / Morgana
- Bella Dayne as Red Spear / Guinevere
- Matt Stokoe as Green Knight / Gawain
- Emily Coates as Sister Iris
- Billy Jenkins as Squirrel/Percival
The plot of the next series of Cursed appears unclear when season one ended in such a cliffhanger. The finale of the first season concluded with Nimue crashing off a bridge to the river below. And Merlin managed to destroy the Red Paladins.
And, in a massive plot twist, the Weeping Monk was eventually discovered to be Lancelot, while Squirrel turned out to be Percival, both of them being Knights of the Round Table, meaning we should hope to see more of them in season two.
However, with the first season based on a novel by Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler, there’s no second book to choose from for season two. So for now, we have no clue about what’s coming next.
