Animal Kingdom is an American serial crime drama developed by Jonathan Lisco. It is based on a 2010 Australian movie ‘Animal Kingdom.’ The first season premiered in 2016. Since then, the show has a schedule of telecasting the consecutive seasons after a year. TNT renewed the show for a fifth season in July 2019. The show portrays a psychotic family with family values. It shows every character’s battles while taking us along. The show had a viewership of around 5.5 million across all platforms.
Animal Kingdom is a story revolving around Joshua, who after the death of his mother, moves in with his relatives, the Codys. The Codys are a criminal family governed by matriarch Smurf. Joshua too gets along with them and embarks with them on not-so ethical adventures. The consensus of the show is ‘Bolstered by Ellen Barkin‘s acting prowess, Animal Kingdom is a darkly intriguing, although occasionally predictable, twisted family drama.’
The plot of Animal Kingdom season 4
Season 4 ended with Joshua shooting Mama Smurf, as per her wishes. Leckie, an officer was still trying to free Joshua of this wild influence of a family. Pope was not willing to hold a proper funeral service for mama Smurf. We also saw the family confronting J and accusing him of lying. J moves on to search Smurf’s past from her friend Angela. We also see flashbacks of Janine’s past.

In Animal Kingdom Season 5, we can expect to see more of Janine’s past. we will also see the struggles she has to face with her family earlier. We will see her household life and more of J uncovering her past and acquaintances.

Release date of Animal Kingdom Season 5
This crime drama has garnered huge fan-following. The fourth season attracted the best reviews of all seasons. We know about the confirmation of Animal Kingdom Season 5. The possible release date was roped to be around early 2021. On March 16, 2020, the makers had to suspend the production “until further notice” due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Even though the show is progressing at a very good rate, the makers are leaving no stones unturned for keeping the reputation intact. The previous seasons are testimony to that. So, we will expect some extra gruesome details to go down in season 5.
