The OA Season 3 is that fruit that everybody has their eye on but seems too far away. The OA debuted on Netflix in December 2016. The OA is an American sci-fi mystery drama with supernatural and fantasy elements. The series is the third collaboration of creators and executive producers, Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij. The OA has an immense following due to its relativity and visuals.
The OA centers around Prairie Johnson, an adopted young woman who resurfaced after being amiss for seven years. When she comes back, nobody recognizes her. Because she can see now when earlier she was blind and she tells tales which people and the police find it hard to believe. She gathers a group of five people who accompany her in saving people from another dimension. The two seasons gained a rating of 88% on Rotten tomatoes.
Why do people love ‘The OA’?
You don’t love anything or anyone just like that. You see something you appreciate and like. You notice that there is something that makes you want more. That is the case for the fans with this series. They want a ‘The OA’ Season 3 because the previous two seasons made them feel included, especially if they were referred to as weird for having spiritual beliefs. The first season laid a foundation for them that the next part will focus more on Prairie’s life, but also on theirs.
A fan on Google reviews wrote, “I often imagine life as a movie and us being mere puppets. I believe that we have different versions for different dimensions and this show made my mind flourish like a flower.”
Will there be a ‘The OA’ Season 3?
The OA was planned by its creators for a five-part story to be distributed in five different seasons. And the fans were ecstatic when they received the second season because it took them on a relatable journey once again. People were expecting the show to have five seasons, as scheduled.
However, on August 5, 2019, Netflix canceled the series after two seasons leaving lovesick fans battered. On top of that, the ending was ambiguous and left us at a cliffhanger. Since then, The OA fans are rallying for Netflix to renew the series for The OA Season 3. In a lengthy Instagram post, Brit Marling expressed her gratitude to the fans and bade official goodbye to the series. She explained the show by saying, “It’s elliptical-it has no beginning and no end. And it certainly has no single hero. The show doesn’t need to continue for this feeling too.”
Well, if this testimony doesn’t make you teary-eyed, I don’t know what will!
Now, we are forced to kickstart our brain’s wheels and think about what could have been the possible plot of The OA Season 3. Season 2 entered the multiverse and we were so excited to see how the show will explicate interdimensional life. Prairie would have stopped evil Dr. Hap.
However, the season two made it clear that The OA season 3 would have been even unfathomable than the previous. Ben Adir said in his interview with Radio Times when season 3 was still on, “You think it goes there, but then it goes [starts pointing frantically] there and there and then there!”
We would have loved to see where we were going because I love to travel.
Well, goodbyes are hard, but we can hope that maybe some other streaming platform takes pity on The OA fandom and give us The OA season 3.
