The CMA Awards of 2019 held on November 13 has seen many country music artists bag an award for their creativity and hard work.
The 53rd Annual Country Music Association Awards which was held at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee has been described as the biggest night for country music. The event was hosted by Carrie Underwood, Dolly Parton, and Reba McEntire. According to the organizers of CMA, this year, the show was designed to celebrate ‘legendary women in Country Music.’ Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley have been hosting the event since 2008.
The show kicked off with all three hosts singing ‘Those Memories of You’ a song originally performed by Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, and Emmylou Harris. Blake Shelton bagged the first award of the night for his song, God’s Country. The song was nominated for Single of the Year alongside Speechless by Dan + Shay, Millionaire by Chris Stapleton, Girl by Maren Morris and Burning Man by Dierks Bentley feat. Brothers Osborne. The award was presented by Lara Spencer and Deena Carter who in 1997 won the same award for Strawberry Wine. This is the first time that the 43-year-old is winning the award.
The Female Artist of the Year award went to Kacey Musgraves while Maren Morris won the award for the Album of the Year for Girl. Musgraves beat out Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Maren Morris, and Kelsey Ballerini. She thanked everyone after receiving the award and stated that the past couple of years have been meaningful and truly unbelievable.

She thanked her peers who voted for her and specially recognized the wife of her late producer, Michael Busbee who was sitting in the crowd.
“Thank you for sharing your husband with us once a month,” she said. The award winner added that her heart goes out to Busbee’s widow and her daughters and that she hopes that the kids will know just how amazing their father was when they listen to any of the songs that he had made. Country legend Garth Brooks bagged the Entertainer Of the Year award, the biggest award of the night. According to Reese Witherspoon, even though Brooks had not released any album since 2016, his Stadium and Dive Bar tours in 2019 earned him the award. He beat out Carrie Underwood, Eric Church, Keith Urban, and Chris Stapleton.
