The Expanse is an American sci-fi drama developed by Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, and the first season premiered on December 14, 2015. The show is based on the novel series of the same name by James S.A.Corey.
The Expanse is set in the future when humanity has inhabited the Solar System. It features a contrasting group of anti-heroes who travel the Solar System and unravel the conspiracy that can break the system’s weak state of the Cold War.

What is the release date of the Expanse season 5?
Amazon renewed The Expanse for the fifth season on July 27, 2019. The makers informed us that they had finished the shooting before COVID-19 lockdown. That means the cast and crew have done their work and are waiting for the green signal from the distributor. However, Amazon has not given any official notice yet. We can expect the season to air on Amazon by the end of 2020 or early 2021.
What will be the plot of Season 5?
Season 4 was a huge hit. The fans loved the season for diving deeper into the colonization of the Solar System and its repercussions. In Season 4, we saw that a land rush began sending humans to inhabit other planets in the Solar System. Residents want to enhance their life on other planets, especially Mars, which made the stay on earth less desirable.
Season 4 ended with a cliffhanger of Marco’s return to earth. Season 5 will pick up from there. That means that we will see more of ‘Nemesis Games’ in this season. Naomi will try to stop her lover’s rise to fame. There will be twists and turns in this season because we can also see an adaptation of ‘Babylon’s Ashes.’ If the makers are looking forward to broadening their plot, they can also touch ‘Persepolis Rising.’ ‘Persepolis Rising’ is set 30 years in advance, and if Season 5 covers that, the season will surely be a masterpiece.
