Xiaomi announced on Friday that the Mi 10i has surpassed the iPhone X as the most popular 5G phone in India in terms of shipments. For its assertion, the company cited the IDC India Monthly Smartphone Tracker. The Mi 10i, a scaled-down version of the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro, was released in India in January. 

Xiaomi boasted that the Mi 10i had been tailored especially for the Indian market. The phone is operated by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G SoC and has a quad rear camera setup with a 108-megapixel primary sensor. The Mi 10i is basically a rebadged version of Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G, which was released in China in November.

According to Xiaomi India’s official Twitter account, the Mi 10i 21,999 is the country’s most popular 5G phone. IDC reported that the smartphone’s leadership status was focused on January 2021 shipments. However, the market research company did not have any clear shipment statistics or information about the models that came in second and third place in terms of shipments.

The Mi 10i had a starting price of Rs. 20,999 for the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage configuration when it was released. It’s also available with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage for Rs. 21,999 and Rs. 23,999, respectively.

Xiaomi: Mi 10i Specifications

The Mi 10i of Xiaomi runs MIUI 12 and has a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz adaptive sync. It has an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processor and up to 8GB of RAM. The phone also has a quad rear camera setup that includes a 108-megapixel Samsung HM2 primary sensor with an f/1.75 lens, an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro shooter, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor, as well as an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro shooter, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

The Mi 10i by Xiaomi has a 16-megapixel selfie camera sensor on the front for selfies and video chats. It comes with an f/2.45 lens as well as app features like Night Mode and AI Beautify.

Onboard storage on the Mi 10i will go up to 128GB. It also has 5G, 4G LTE, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack as well as other networking options. You’ll also get a 4,820mAh battery and support for 33W quick charging.
