By 2022, Apple will offer Mini-LED displays on its MacBook Air, and by the same year, OLED displays will be available on iPad Air models. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is said to have shared the news in a research note. There have been rumors that Apple will soon release MacBook and iPad Pro models with Mini-LED displays, but it appears that these displays will be limited to iPad Pro models when it comes to tablets.
As per the 9to5Mac, Apple could release its MacBook Air with Mini-LED display next year, citing a research note by advisor Ming-Chi Kuo. The very awaited iPad Pro models will also be using Mini-LED display technology, according to the report, but other iPad models will use OLED displays. According to Kuo, the iPad Air will have an OLED show next year. Unlike the iPhone OLED displays, which curve at the bottom, the company plans to use flat OLED displays for the iPad models. As a result, the displays would be comparatively less expensive to manufacture.
