Tech company, Microsoft had said it will be launching the Edge Chromium on January 15, 2020.
After Microsoft launched the “release candidate” on Nov. 4, it said that Edge Chromium browser will arrive early next year. The browser will be available on macOS, Windows 10, Windows 8 and Windows 7. The release candidate is a demonstration of what the complete package will be when it is released in 2020.
The build will include favorites, history, sync support for passwords and settings for Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS. It also has built-in tracking protection which is designed to protect users from new types of malware, malicious software and phishing schemes. Another notable feature is Collections which allows users to collect and organize web content. It also allows you to send your findings in Word or Excel.
Microsoft Edge Chromium is arriving a few months after the tech company unveiled the Canary and Beta version of Edge. According to Microsoft, Edge Chromium is coming with a new logo, one that is different from the Internet Explorer that users are already familiar with. The new logo looks more like a wave. Microsoft Edge Chromium is also coming with some upgrade to Bing search for businesses. With this, employees can easily find information about co-workers, office locations and other important details about the company.
The new Edge Browser is targeted at businesses and corporate customers. Vice President of Microsoft’s modern life, search and devices Group, Yusuf Mehdi wrote: Today marks an important milestone as we look forward to the official release of Microsoft Edge and Bing for our corporate customers in January. He said that Microsoft is excited to share more about how they will expand opportunities for developers in 2020.
Microsoft teamed with Google to create the new Edge browser. The tech giant believes that adopting Chromium will help to improve web compatibility. Microsoft says that the new Chromium will support all Chrome extensions.
