On Monday, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen requested the Government of India to assist the country in fighting Covid’s situation. They asked for help in providing vaccines in a meeting with the new Indian ambassador to Cambodia Devyani Uttamkhobragade. The reports were made available by The Phnom Penh Post recently.

It is a proud and relieving moment for India that it has produced its own vaccine. The Covidshield, as well as Covaxin, are these two vaccines. These are available at most of the medical centers in India on Saturday.

On Saturday, the government took a big step. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the pan-India rollout of the COVID-19 vaccination drive. It is a kind of campaign against the Coronavirus. The launch happened through a video conference.

The Indian COVID-19 vaccine drive is billed as the world’s largest vaccination program. It is almost covering the complete length and breadth of the nation. The campaign is aiming to first inoculate 300 million Indians by the end of this year.

More About The Request By Hun Sen:

Hun Sen praised India for the good development of COVID-19 vaccines in the country. He then asked India to donate COVID-19 vaccines to Cambodia to help save Cambodian lives. It is because the Kingdom will still need millions of additional doses to protect the entire nation. Even if we take into consideration the amount donated by China recently, they still need a lot more.

Before this, due to high need in the country, Prime minister Hun Sen announced the vaccine offered by China. This happened despite the fact that WHO didn’t approve of these. He also told that they got around 1 million doses from China but are not in the position to refuse the offer.

He also has taken a vow that he would be the first Cambodian to take the vaccine shot. This will build a system of public confidence and faith in the administration.

During this period, Uttam Khobragade applauded by congratulating the government of Cambodia. This was because of the efforts of the government to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the country. The government held the campaigns in order to achieve it.

The country has, however, done a lot better on record. As of now, it still had recorded 439 Covid-19 cases. 53 patients are hospitalized as of now. The local media is keeping track.
