The BBC drama series Taboo Season 2 is all set to drop soon. The show first premiered in 2017, and ever since then, fans are waiting for the season. BBC, back in 2017, officially announces the instant renewal of the series. This announcement gives fans something to look forward to. We are all waiting for James Delany and the grimy cohorts of his. Since we realize that fans are eagerly waiting, we here bring to you all the necessary details you need to know.
Taboo Season 2 Release Date
There is no official announcement for a release date just yet. The first season came out on January 7, 2017. The creator of the show Steven Knight says, “I am trying to finish writing as soon as possible”. This was in the mid of 2017. He further states, “We are hopeful to start shooting early in the next year”. However, there were no apprehensions and positive outcomes in 2018. The year just swept by.
It was only in 2019 that there was any update about Taboo season 2. The creator finally reveals that the writing is almost finished. However, shooting will not commence until the end of 2019 or the beginning of 2020. Therefore we can be hopeful that the series is not going to drop anywhere before 2021.
The only sure cast member of the TV show as of now is Tom Hardy. This is because he is the co-creator of the series alongside his dad, Chip Hardy. He will be playing James Keziah Delany. Apart from him, we will also see Leo Bill appearing as Benjamin Wilson. Stephen Graham appears as Atticus. Mark Gates is appearing as Prince George and Jefferson Hall as Thorne Geary. Besides these, Marina Hands, Tom Hollander, Edward Hogg, David Hayman, and Jonathan Pryce will also join in.
Taboo Season 2 Plot
Season 1 ends with a total of eight episodes. The first season reveals that Zilpha kills James and herself. This was while waiting for James’ trial. The creator provides us with some clues about the sequel. Steven Knight says, “Explosive stuff is going to happen in my mind. It is going to be great”.
We also see Hardy giving us some clues. He hints at us that the second season is going to revolve around ‘Colonnade’. It is a spy network of the US. As of now, it is tough to make any speculations. However, we are pretty sure that season 2 will begin from where season 1 ended.
All we have to do is stay tuned.
