First, the series was titled “Last Summer” but later it was changed to “Cruel Summer”. Produced by Iron Ocean Films the show is going to take us back to the 90s. The entire series takes place over three summers 93, 94, 95 and this also takes place in a small Texas town.

The series is scheduled to be released in the year 2021, but for now, there is no specific release date for it.
It is filmed at three different locations and the production location was captured in Dallas, Texas, and the USA. The series was produced by three executive producers namely, Tia Napolitano, Jessica Biel, and Michelle Purple. Additionally, there was one co-executive producer named Bill Purple and one supervising producer Addison McQuigg.

Cruel Summer Season 1: What about the plotline?
The show follows a beautiful teenager named Kate and she discovers a lot of mysterious things. Each episode tells about the two main girls and they are named Jeanette and Kate.
The story is around a small Texas town where a popular teen, Kate, is abducted and, seemingly unrelated, a girl, Jeanette goes from being a sweet awkward outlier to the most popular girl in town and by 95, the most despised person in America.
