Four days after Argentina’s legend suffered a fatal heart attack, Diego Maradona ‘s personal doctor was investigated for involuntary killings on Sunday, prosecutions in San Isidro near Buenos Aires confirmed.
According to TV photos, police searched Leopoldo Luque’s service and home for alleged signs of neglect.
The test was prompted by an alarm posed in his house in Tigre in the north of Buenos Aires by three Maradona daughters Dalma, Giannina, and Jana about his treatment.
The source close to San Isidro’s poll said: “Our investigations are ongoing, we are talking to witnesses including the members of the family.”
On 12 November eight days after surgery, the 60-year-old, Luque who refused to comment, who was approached by AFP, had shared a photograph of himself with Maradona to dissolve a blood clot in his brain.
Maradona came back home to Tigre to get medical attention right round the clock. On Wednesday he died of a heart attack and was buried in Argentina’s suburbs Thursday, in the cemetery of Jardin de Paz.
