There are about 8.15 lakh people all of Indian origin, who are currently caught in the green card backlog. There are so many people who are just tied to an unknown string in this scenario and want to let go. But, the next part about this is that there are about 1.57 lakh children who are involved in this backlog. This is the fact that most of the people leave out. The fact that such a huge amount of children are subject to this backlog is quite sad and there an adverse effect on these children.

More About The Green Card Backlog :

The thing is that there will be quite a huge amount of time before the great burden is resolved from the backs of the children. The adverse part of this is that there will be a very long time when these children get their green cards. The thing is that they would get their green cards when they get old which is quite useless. Along with this, another thing is that there will be a high risk of separation of families included within this.

With so many complexities and malfunctions, the children would get adversely affected. On an annual basis, the United States keeps about 1.40 lakh green cards that are reserved for employment-based candidates only. Also, there is a 7% per-country cap. The restrictive policy of the US has caused challenges to the heavy influx of Indians in the United States. This is quite a bad effect on the children along with their families.

The thing is that the employment-based US green card has found a backlog of 7.41 lakh as of April 2020. This is quite a huge number and also, means that the waiting time for a green card in the US is now around 84 years. This research is the conduction by David J. Bier who is an immigration policy analyst with the Cato Institute. There are about one lakh plus, or precisely 1.36 lakh children, who are facing a backlog regarding the acceptance of a green card. The studies that were conducted say that these children will be getting about 84 years of age until they receive their green cards and this is highly ineffective.
