Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 20th November said that the security forces had spoiled a plot to target grassroots level democratic exercises in Jammu and Kashmir. They did this by killing four suspected terrorists belonging to the Pakistan-based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM).
The four terrorists, who recently came from Pakistan, got killed. There were injuries to two policemen in a gunfight at the Ban Toll Plaza near Nagrota on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway on 19th November. The four had a huge amount of ammunition and explosive materials on them.
The Indian Prime Minister had a detailed review of the Nagrota encounter on 20th November. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary Harsh Shringla, and top intelligence officials were present in the review.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs officials, the government is also likely to summon Pakistan High Commission officials. This is to protest the continuous acts of terrorism against India planned on its soil.
Ther Terrorists Were Planning Something Big On The Anniversary Of The 26/11 Terror Attacks
According to a senior government official, the terrorists from Pakistan were planning something huge on the anniversary of the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai.
Narendra Modi said in a tweet after the meeting that the armed forces have spoiled the plans of Pakistan-based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed. According to a senior government official, there was a massive quantity of arms and ammunition. A digital mobile radio from Microelectronics which is a Pakistani company has also been recovered from the terrorists. The messages from the movie of the intruders show that they were continuously in touch with their handlers in Pakistan. There was also recovery of shoes and medicines made in Pakistan. A smartphone, Q mobile from in Pakistan, a wireless set, and a GPS device were also on them.
The four suspected terrorists came from the International Border in Jammu. They then reached a pre-decided spot. This was on the national highway south of Samba district. According to officials, they were on their way to Kashmir Valley. This was when the security forces halted their truck at the toll plaza.
The plan was to disrupt the District Development Council elections of J&K. They had 11 AK-47 rifles and also over 7 kilograms of RDX on them. According to officials, their plan was to do something spectacular.
