One of the best comedy-drama over Netflix i.e., Orange Is The New Black is going to end with its season 7. We know it is very heartbreaking and disappointing news for all of you, but the truth is decided. The drama was based upon Piper Kerman’s memoir, 2010, and was created by Jenji Kohan. The series received lots of admiration and won multiple awards and was appreciated for its fantastic cast, direction, and of course, for its incredible storyline.
Orange is the new black season 8: Is the show returning?

Well, as we said earlier, the seventh season was last, and Kohan is firm with her decision. After the official announcement after its wrap up on 17th October 2018, Kohan said, “After seven seasons, it’s time to be released from prison. I will miss all the badass ladies of Litchfield and the incredible crew we have worked with. My heart is orange but fades to Black.”
Cindy Holland, the vice president of Netflix Originals, also stated that “We will be sad to say goodbye, but we will be going out on a high. We are grateful to Jenji Kohan and her groundbreaking vision, to her supremely talented team of writers and producers, and to a once in a lifetime cast and crew for creating an extraordinary work of art that has inspired conversations and connected audiences around the world.”
Therefore, we now know that Netflix has not renewed the comedy-drama series for its eight seasons; and the seventh season that was released on 26th July 2019 is the last one for all of us.
Orange is the new black season 8: are there any chances of a spinoff?
The cancellation of the most beloved series was a mutual decision between its creator and the streaming house i.e., Netflix. Though, we should also know that the Orange is the new Black was provided with the golden chance for ending the series on their own terms. And Koran took full benefit of this chance and crafted out the final season, which explored the various timelines, thorny issues that other dramas can’t do in a significant way. And, now the series has come to wrap up, the fantastic storyline.
The decision to wrap up the popular drama was an intelligent plus a brave one. Netflix would soon be competing with other big companies like Apple TV+, Disney+Hotstar, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video.
