The Prime minister and the vice president of the UAE (United Arab Emirates) who is also the ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, received the coronavirus vaccine shot recently.
Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, 3rd November 2020 he wrote that they wish everyone safety and also great health. They are proud of their teams working relentlessly to make the coronavirus vaccine available in the UAE.
Sheikh Mohammed also shared a photo with his post on Twitter. We can see him receiving the vaccine shot in the picture. The vaccine is by China’s Sinopharm. Check out the picture of Sheikh Mohammed receiving the shot here.

The UAE Prime Minister is the latest person to receive the vaccine shot after dozens of other Emirati officials.
On 16th October 2020, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan who is the foreign minister of the UAE also received the vaccine. He was then followed by Mohammed Abdullah al-Gergawi who is the UAE minister for cabinet affairs.
According to local media reports, front-line healthcare workers in the UAE also received the vaccine shot.
The UAE has given the authority for the emergency use of the vaccine. This initiative is a part of the country’s measures to protect health workers who work in close contact with COVID-19 positive patients. The country wants to ensure their safety. They said that this initiative is completely in line with the regulations and laws that allow a faster review of licensing procedures.
Vaccine By Sinopharm Is In The Third And Final Stage Of Clinical Trials
The vaccine by China’s Sinopharm is now in the third and final stage of clinical trials. According to authorities, the vaccine has been both safe and effective so far.
The vaccine candidates by Sinopharm’s Beijing Institute of Biological Products and the Wuhan Institute of Biological Products got the approval for clinical trials by China in April 2020. Sinopharm obtained emergency use approval for one of its vaccine candidates in July 2020.
Several pharmaceutical companies and research centers around the world are working relentlessly on developing the coronavirus vaccine. There are also large global trials of the developing vaccines which involve tens of thousands of participants.
Some companies who are developing the vaccine are close to unveiling their initial findings in the research. Canadian and European regulators have already started reviewing early data on some vaccines.
According to the collected data of Johns Hopkins University, the UAE has so far recorded 135141 COVID-19 infections and 497 deaths.
