“I will not give the Prime Minister an excuse to plunge the country into an election. My aim is to help people and I will continue with my task,” said Singh. He nevertheless did not say how his party is going to vote on Wednesday.

Official opposition Conservatives are attacking the liberals. They allege some of C$200 plus billion handed out in Covid aid programs has been spent wrongly. The Conservatives of Canada want to make a committee to analyze and examine what they mention the ethical issues of Government. One area to focus on is payments to Trudeau’s wife and mother. This is by a charity chosen to watch and manage a student grant program.

Trudeau is insisting that he does not want an early election, said the mandate of the proposed committee showed the opposition had totally lost confidence in him. There is some guess in Ottawa that he wants to go to voters. He wants to do so before some of the expensive aid programs are wound down.

About The Voting In Canada:

Meanwhile, something strongly suggests another minority for Trudeau. A Canadian Broadcasting tracker for recent opinion polls has put the Liberals at 36.5% public support with Conservatives at 30.8%.

“The opposition is going to decide whether they want to make this minority Parliament work or, they have lost confidence in the government,” said Trudeau. He is proposing a committee with a wider mandate to study the response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The virus has killed 9,778 people in Canada.

Jagmeet Singh told reporters that he had his own suggestions on how the committee should work. He further said the two sides were close. But he also called Trudeau’s attitude as ludicrous and farcical. He accused the Prime Minister of seeking an election while blaming the opposition. The vote in Canada is fixed for around 3:15 p.m. Eastern (1915 GMT).
