A historical fantasy drama “Britannia” is coming back with its third season. Created by Jez Butterworth and Tom Butterworth the series is an ambitious period drama that is set in the year 43. This is the first show to be co-produced between Sky Atlantic show and Amazon Prime Video. The series tells us a wild story of a certain land ruled by powerful women and druids and narrates a spellbinding tale of Britain’s conquest by the Romans.

We know that all of you are really eager to know everything about the upcoming season. Therefore, we are here with all the latest details about the third season of the show. So without taking any more time let’s take a quick look at everything we have gathered up for you.

In the US, season 1 of the show aired on Amazon Prime. However, for season 2, Amazon withdrew from the project and the show was picked up by Epix. The first season started airing on Epix in August 2020, and the second season came out on 4th October 2020.

In January 2020, Sky renewed the show for its third season. However, due to the ongoing corona virus crisis going on everywhere around the world, the production of the third season was halted in March 2020. But, as per the show’s Twitter handle update the filming has been resumed on 1st September 2020.

If we are lucky enough and things become okay in the coming days then we can expect the premiere of the third season in 2021.

Britannia Season 3: Who all are in for the cast?

The cast for the third season has been confirmed. We are going to have the following faces on the screen:

  • David Morrissey as General Aulus
  • Mackenzie Crook as Veran and Harka
  • Eleanor Worthington-Cox as Cait
  • Nikolaj Lie Kaas as Divis
  • Annabel Scholey as Celtic Queen Amena
  • Sophie Okonedo as Hemple

Plus, there are several other stars who round up the primary cast of the show and are expected to be featured in the third season too.

Britannia Season 3: What about the plotline?

The third season of the show will revolve around Cait as she moves forward on her journey to be the Chosen One. She needs to make a decision that will seal the fate and future of her war-torn people and their ravaged land.

Meanwhile, Aulus is affected by a new and dark force that happens to be his wife Hemple. Amena finds herself entangled in a lethal Menage a Trois while Divis is given a job he hates. Veran travels to the Underworld where he discerns his future.
