The Netflix original series took viewers by storm when it debuted. Viewers all over the world are captivated by this crime thriller. Ever since the conclusion of the second season, fans have been waiting eagerly to know the fate of “Mindhunter Season 3”.

The American psychological crime thriller series is based on a true crime book called “Mindhunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit”. John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker are the writers of the book.  Joe Penhall is the creator of the show. The show debuted on Netflix on 13th October 2017. The second season of the show premiered on 16th August 2019.

Unfortunately, Netflix has announced the series to be o indefinite hold. Even if the streaming giant did not put the show on hold, it would have taken some time to come with the perfect plot. Also, due to the covid-19 situation, the show would have got delayed.

As of now, there is no further announcement on the next season’s release.

The Plot Of The Series

The plot revolves around FBI agents  Holden Ford,  Bill Tench, and psychologist Wendy Carr. Together they work for the FBI’s Behavioral Science Unit within the Training Division at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Their job is to interview imprisoned serial killers and understand their thought process. They do this with the hope of applying this knowledge to the ongoing cases.

The first season of the show takes place between 1977 to 1980. Notorious serial killer Edmund Kemper helps out mind hunters to understand the workings of a  mind of a serial killer.

The second season focuses on the Atlanta murders from 1979 to 1981. This is based on a real-life case where two men were found guilty of murdering 28 children and adolescents.

It will be interesting to see what famous case or criminal will be a part of the third season. But it is sure going to blow our minds.
