Based on the manga series of the same name, Violet Evergarden has been written by Kana Akatsuki and illustrated by Akiko Takase. It was produced by Kyoto Animation and aired in Japan from 11 January to 5 April 2018. Around the same time, Netflix telecasted the series to a massive audience.
After the first season of Violet Evergarden concluded in April 2018, two months later, Kyoto animation, the producers of the show, produced an original video animation that was an individual episode. Later, they revealed that the writers were working on a project that would be an adaptation of the anime series they had previously planned. The film was released in 2019, and the makers had expected another film to be released by September 2020, which is supposed to be released next month.
Multiple outlets reported that the series would return for a second season, but as there was no confirmed word from the producers or the writers, we can not confirm the release of the second half.
