Amruta Fadnavis, wife of Former Maharashtra Cheif Minister Devendra Fadnavis has made a statement. She has once again attacked the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maharashtra government. This statement was regarding not re-opening religious places in Maharashtra. The intensity of the controversies over the re-opening of worship places. BJP is continuously supporting for re-opening of religious places that are not open due to the covid pandemic.

A letter war is going on between the CM and Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Maharashtra Governor. In the middle of that, Amruta questioned why are temples considered a threat while bars and liquor shops are opening fearlessly. In his letter, Koshyari mentioned that “it is ironic to see this. On one hand, the state government is permitting to open bars, restaurants, and beaches. They are condemning our gods and goddesses to stay in the lockdown.”

Amruta Fadnavis Commented :

Amruta Fadnavis posted recently on twitter. “Definitely sometimes it is necessary to have a ‘certificate’ to prove your sanity. Saneness of some dicey creature who is not capable of having any SOPs in place,” she tweeted. She was trying to address and comment on Uddhav Thackeray’s response. Uddhav responded to the Governor on this. He responded he doesn’t need any certificate for his Hindutva from the Governer. She smartly picked that ‘certificate’ thing to comment.

This is not for the first time that Amruta Fadnavis has criticized the Maharashtra government. She has continuously put her political and social views many times fearlessly in public. She had called Cabinet Minister Aaditya Thackeray a cocooned worm. She had also launched attacks on the CM.

During this time, a disastrous battle of letters erupted between Koshyari and Thackeray. This happened after Koshyari wrote a letter to CM about representations received by his office. The representation demanded the reopening of places of religious worship that were shut. This was happening since March after the COVID pandemic.

Thackeray in response to his letter wrote a letter back. He responded that he will consider the request but asserted that he doesn’t need the certificate of the Governor. The certificate to prove his “Hindutva”. BJP workers held protests outside Siddhivinayak temple and Shirdi Sai Baba temple demanding the same. The social distancing and precautions are all forgotten during these protests.
