Unfortunately, fans will not be getting to see “The Rain Season 4” on their screens. The third season of the show was the finale.
The Danish post-apocalyptic tv series first debuted on Netflix on 4th May 2018. The second and third seasons of the series released in 2019 and 2020 respectively. Jannik Tai Mosholt, Christian Potalivo, and Esben Toft Jacobsen are the creators of the series.
Release Date Of “The Rain Season 4”
Sadly, the series will not be returning for a fourth season. Netflix announced the end of the season with a tweet while releasing the news for the third season. No official explanation has been given out by the streaming giant as to why the series is canceled.
But the cancelation of the series does not necessarily mean the end of the show. The show might get picked up by other networks. But as of now, there is no such information on the renewal of the series. Also, with many of the main characters having been killed off, a fourth run appears to be something of a long shot. Although the series was wrapped up pretty well with no loose ends dangling. It might have been a creative decision to not renew the series for a fourth run.
The Plot Of The Series
A virus in the rainfall wipes out almost all humans in Scandinavia. But Danish siblings Simone and Rasmus take shelter in a bunker and survived. Six years later, they emerge from their hiding to search for their father. Their father is a scientist who left them in the bunker but never returned. Along the way, they join a group of young survivors and together all of them travel across Denmark and Sweden, searching for a safe place, and for the siblings’ father. They believe their father may be able to provide answers to this virus that wiped out human life and also provide a cure for the same.
