CBI, the body Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister asked for, to look into the Hathras case is finally on board. When people asked Yogi Adityanath to account for the caste discrimination and the rising rape cases in the state. He simply asked the organization for help. Well, the Central Bureau of Investigation took the reigns of the case from the UP Police. The first thing it did is take action. CBI Filed an FIR that state murder, gang-rape, and SC/ST caste discrimination against the dead victim, clearly. The FIR which shod have been filed weeks ago when the incident happened, is lodged finally.
CBI takes over the Hathras tragic case
On Sunday, October 11, 2020, CBI lodged an FIR. this FIR includes violation of sections like 376D (gang rape), 307 (attempt to murder), ad 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code. It also includes section 3 of the SC/ST Act (offenses of minorities). Not only did it act on paper, but the team reached the village as well. The UP Police where did not let anyone enter the village primarily because of some penal code section had to let the central team in. The team used for all the documents regarding the rape case. Hathras SP Vineet Jaiswal said, “The CBI investigation will begin tomorrow.”
Fifteen CBI officials will stay in Hathras for a few weeks. This stay will bring about lucrative results from the investigation and probably, the well-deserving justice the family deserves. CBI will also look into the forceful cremation claims. The CBI has its main unit set up in Ghaziabad. The first FIR registered by the CBI made a sort of progress in the case.
How will the case take its face?
The UP police have previously delivered very little for the family. The criticism of the police is well-deserving. It has delivered unproductive statements as no rape occurred, no semen was found, we did not beat up anyone, etc. The FIRs against the unknown people and not against the accused further provides evidence to the work ethic of the police. A 19-year old Dalit girl was raped by four men. The police has not charged them yet. The mention of gang rape is the first incident that any official document has produced. This is why hope lies within CBI for the delivery of justice to the family. The caste discrimination and time in and time out occurrences of rape in the country are at a peak. According to NCRB, India recorded 87 rape cases, per day last year.
