The mobile chipset division of Samsung is going through a bit of upside-down experience. It is responsible for making Exynos chipset that people have grown accustomed to. People are expecting everything to get changed. This includes poor performance against the competition in the market. Even the architecture could change. The company has decided to move away from custom cores. They have to develop and opt for ARM cores instead of in- house custom cores.

Is Samsung Really Working On The Exynos Chipset?

Samsung’s change in the chipset is going to be amazing yet challenging. Samsung China R&D Institute recently confirmed the first chipset by the company. They said that it would be called the Exynos 1080. According to reports and sources, Samsung is planning it to launch by next year. Yet, this will not be there on a Samsung smartphone.

In a normal case, we expect the chip to debut in a smartphone of Samsung. But according to claims, it seems like it could be in some Vivo branded smartphone. This will be for some initial debut. No source reveal anything about any of the specifications related to the device. Various reports yet do speculate that this Exynos 1080 chip is especially for the Chinese market. it is not so new for Samsung as it has done it before.

The important thing for us to note here is that these parts are not particularly designed by China. However, Samsung can still use them in their own devices and smartphones. Although, even if it is true that Exynos 1080 is designed and developed for the users of China, a question arises. how will Samsung plan on launching some devices similar to the global market? Or is it going to skip the release in the global market altogether?

We have heard various rumors that the company is also working on the Exynos 2100, based on the 5nm process. this makes the picture a little less blurry. Exynos 1080 might be limited to the Chinese market, and the Exynos 2100 is going to be available globally.
Reports say that the highest performance core can go as high as 3.0GHz in the case of Exynos 2100. It is going to be quite fast as compared to what other companies usually offer. This is just a tip for now as there is no confirmation provided for any of this.

Everyone is looking forward to seeing what Samsung does with the Exynos 1080 and the Exynos 2100. the other crucial thing to see is how are they going to perform.
