MSI or Micro-Star International is one of the most trusted gaming companies out there. But, it made a mistake and has admitted to it. The company admits that due to a series of “error”, its subsidiary Starlit Partner got access to new GeForce RTX 30-series graphics cards. The graphic card was long-awaited by most of the gamers out there. The cards were found being sold on eBay at huge markups and this would obviously upset the makers of the product. Now, what is the consequence of the “error” that MSI has made? As the links between the two companies came out of the shadows, the users on Reddit started throwing off accusations.

So, What Was The Result Of This “Error” By MSI :

As a result of this “error” by Multi-Star International, we should expect the customers to be angry. Reddit users accused MSI of taking advantage of and using malpractice. According to them, MSI took the advance of the shortage of the stocks of the new GeForce RTX 30-series graphics cards. Reddit users complained that MSI has used the situation so as to sell the cards at prices that are way up. Also, MSI said that any and every person that has bought graphics cards over their MSRP from Starlit will be given 2 options. The first option will be of partial refund and the second will be a full refund for the mistake.

In a statement on Twitter, MSI confirmed the news and said that Starlit Partner is an “individual sales subsidiary” under MSI. It confirms that Starlit is just a subsidiary that sells “excess inventory and refurbished items”. Thus, in order to control the accusations and clarify itself, MSI says that under normal conditions, it doesn’t give off new products. MSI confirms that they haven’t sold the GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards deliberately. According to the company, Starlit Partner made “an error allowed them access to the inventory they were not permitted to handle.”

Screenshots of the sale are still available on the internet and various other sites. Although the listing of the GeForce products is no more present, the sale is still on. Starlit Partner is selling the products for $1,359, almost $600 above its MRP of $760. This is a great benefit for the subsidiary but, a huge loss for the customers. The main reason for this was the shortage as the series is getting sold out. GeForce RTX 3080 sold out almost instantly.
