Kolkata police used chemical water on the Bharatiya Janata Party workers. The ongoing march in Bengal named ‘Nabbano Cholo’ is in full force. This rally is against the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. People, especially those affiliated with the Bharatiya Janata Party gathered in the city on Thursday, October 8, 2020. When the rally reached Howrah Santragachi Kona Expressway, the Kolkata police opened water cannons. The BJP, later on, accused the Banerjee led government of opening atrocious chemical-laden water on the protestors.
The water had a chemical in it, accuses the Bharatiya Janata Party officials
The procession started from Santragachhi. There, the police obstruction started as well, which led to the deterring health of BJP leader Raju Bandyopadhyay. Further up the expressway route, the police used barricades to block the oncoming crowd. The Kolkata police also opened water on them. However, the accusations of chemical water emerged when few BJP leaders drank the water including Raju Bandyopadhyay. Consequently, they started getting sick. They alleged that in Howrah Maidan, the water had chemical content lethal to the human body.
However, the West Bengal government has denied all charges. Alapan Bandhopadhyay, Chief Secretary, West Bengal said, “It is the wrong information that we used chemical in water.”
All attacks against Kolkata Police and Mamata Banerjee
BJP has blatantly called out Mamata Banerjee after seeing the alleged atrocious act of Kolkata Police. It even affirmed that her government’s days in power are “now numbered”. BJP President JP Nadda said, “We stand with the people of Bengal despite the brazen misuse of state power by Mamata. Her karyakartas and the machinery unleashed brute force upon BJP workers in an attempt to prevent them from holding protests against her tyrannical misrule.”
Mamata Banerjee’s karyakartas and the Gov machinery led by her have unleashed brute force upon BJP karyakartas in an attempt to prevent them from holding protests against her tyrannical & bloodied misrule in West Bengal. Such misuse of power is totally unacceptable & condemnable.

Even though the Kolkata police have denied using chemicals in it, the opposition is hell-bent on attesting to the vindictive act. Union minister Ravi Shankar said, “there is no democracy in West Bengal. Those who protest against the government are harassed by police or murdered.” The killing of staff, the rising unemployment, and police brutality are the sises that the BJP wants to address. This is why the Nabanno cholo protest fully declare war against her rule in West Bengal. The saffron leaders want to protest the raging atrocities of the government. The Kolkata police have prior also used teargas shells, beaten up protestors, and now used water cannons laden with chemicals.
