Apple’s iPad Pro 2021 to be launched with a mini-LED display

Must Read

The most anticipated update to Apple’s iPad Pro 2021 is the introduction of the mini LED display panel. It’s an eagerly awaited technology that should be making a splash on a wide range of Apple products across 2021. This year Apple has surprised the tech community by releasing a lot of high-end products. Especially it’s A13 Bionic whose performance remains unmatched among mobile SoC’s but the release of its latest A14 has taken the tech world by storm.

Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known predictor for what the Cupertino giant is up to behind its doors, has yet against given us a prediction. According to him, Apple will launch a new iPad Pro as the first step towards the mass-adoption of next-gen display technology. The new iPad Pro will come with a mini-LED display.

For those who don’t know, Apple has earlier announced that it will launch a series of next-generation products implementing the new min-LED display. This will include six mini-LED Macs and iPads and are supposed to be launched by the end of next year. The mini-LED display is an alternative that combines tiny groups of Led’s to form individual pixels that make up the display. They offer several advantages including better contrast, richer colours, faster response times, and lower power consumption than OLED and LCDs.

These mini-LED displays are provided on Apple’s ultra-premium iPad Pro. Since mass-producing the mini-LED displays are expensive, it makes sense to include the display in the premium iPads.

As predicted by Kuo, a natural price drop in the cost of mass-producing mini-LED displays will happen. He suggests that there will be a 50% drop in price by end of next year. This means that in a couple of years; we can afford to purchase an iPad Pro without having to worry about astronomical price tags. The next iPad Pro seems to be one heck of a device, and it is quite interesting to know that it will come with other premium features like an iPhone-style triple camera array and an upgraded Apple Pencil.

We are not sure about the price regarding Apple’s iPad Pro. But based on some data, it seems that Apple will hold steady with the base prices of $799 and $999; for the iPad Pro 11-inch and iPad Pro 12.9-inch, respectively. While the iPad Air saw a price hike to $599 after holding at $499 through its first three iterations; there is no evidence to suggest that the iPad Pro will follow the same pattern.
