After a dark and grim first season, the question on the minds of the fans is whether or not the series will be returning for a second season. The possibility of “Dragon’s Dogma Season 2” seems plausible.
The net anime dark fantasy series is based on a video game by the same name. The game is by Capcom. Shinya Sugai is the director of the series and it first debuted on 17th September 2020 on Netflix. Sublimation is animating the series with Kurasumi Sunayama writing the scripts, and Kaoru Nishimura designing the characters. The series consists of seven episodes.
Release Date of “Dragon’s Dogma Season 2”
Out of the many Originals premiering on Netflix, animes are some of the few to announce that a second season is in the works before debuting. Dragon’s Dogma’s status for renewal is still unknown.
The series has only just arrived on Netflix, so there is still plenty of time before we learn the fate of the anime series. It can take Netflix several weeks or months before announcing a renewal. We might expect a second season somewhere in 2021 or even 2022.
The Plot of the Show
The series is based on a video game of the same name. Ethan is resurrected as an Arisen and sets out to vanquish the Dragon that took his heart. But with every demon that he battles, his humanity slips further away.
In the final episode, Ethan was successful in claiming his revenge against the Dragon. But in doing so sealed his own fate forever. Killing the Dragon with the motivation of revenge, Ethan is now destined to become the next dragon. This is a curse that he did not know of.
Despite his wish to die before his transformation, Hannah, who is Ethan’s protector, refused to kill him. It is unclear how long Ethan has left before his new Dragon instincts fully take over, but it was clear he only has a small slither of humanity left in him.
We can make plenty of assumptions for the second season. If Ethan is to die he will need to select a new Arisen who will be worthy of killing a dragon. To break this cycle, the selected Arisen must not fall into the same trap that Ethan fell into the new Arisen must slay the Dragon without the need for revenge or out of pride.
Hannah may be able to help the next Arisen from falling into the trap of slaying Ethan out of revenge or pride as Hannah has knowledge of the curse. If the next Arisen can overcome these desires then the curse will finally be broken, and no dragons will rise further in the future.
