One of the first Marvel TV shows to stream on Disney+ will include a series following the unlikely pairing of an android and a mutant probability manipulator, titled “WandaVision”.

The upcoming miniseries is based on Marvel comic book characters Scarlet Witch and Vision. Jac Schaeffer is the creator and the head writer of the series. Mark Shakman is directing the series with Marvel Studios producing it. The series official announcement came in April 2019 after Marvel Studios started developing a number of limited series centered on the supporting characters from the MCU movies. The filming of the movie started in November 2019.

Release Date of “WandaVision”

The show is part of the series developed by Marvel Studios centering around the supporting characters of the MCU films. The film’s production began in 2019 but had to be halted in March 2020 due to the ongoing pandemic. The production resumed in July 2020.

The show is all set to air on Disney + in December 2020. It will consist of six episodes and will be the firsts series in the Phase Four project of MCU.

The Plot of the Show

The show will follow the Marvel characters, Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch and Vision. The series will take place after the 2019 movie “Avengers: Endgame”. The duo begins to suspect things are not as they seem as the two live their ideal suburban life.

The trailer of the series was recently released during the PrimeTime Emmy Awards this month. The trailer begins in a strange setting, that reminds one of the America of the 50s or 60s. The trailor also begins in black-and-white. It shows us the adult version of Monica Rambeau, who is the daughter of Carol Danvers’ friend Maria. However, she appears in a current-day setting as the footage turns to color, and both Vision and Wanda are also present. Are our superheroes time-traveling? Guess, we will have to wait for the series to start airing. Meanwhile, check out the trailer for the miniseries below.

The Cast of the Show

The cast of the show includes

  • Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch
  • Paul Bettany as Vision
  • Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau
  • Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis
  • Randall Park as Jimmy Woo
  • Kathryn Hahn as Agnes
  • Fred Melamed as Arthur Heart
  • Debra Jo Rupp as Mrs. Heart

The trailer of the limited series looks both spectacular and confusing. There are also reports that the series will be associated with the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel, “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”.
