The Batman Poster Has Robert Pattinson Suited Up as the Dark Knight

Must Read

With people’s heads already blown with the first The Batman trailer, some new pictures of the movie’s theme, and a brand new poster, have now emerged online. Featuring a twist on the Dark Knight by Robert Pattinson, the poster brings us another look at the leader of The Lighthouse in this newest iteration of the Batsuit.

The pic, looking as thoughtful as ever, shows Pattinson’s The Batman in profile and gives us a well-lit peek at the new Batsuit’s front part. Director Matt Reeves has clarified many times in the past that this suit should look like Bruce Wayne put it together himself, and thanks to the obvious stitching in the cowl, along with the chunky puzzle bits that make up the costume, the design team has definitely succeeded in creating a slick-yet-simple superhero suit in that sense.

Reeves recently gave some insight into how the development team handled the Batsuit concept, announcing that star Robert Pattinson was deeply involved in bringing it to life, quite appropriately. “In creating the outfit, Rob [Pattinson] had a very critical role in that he had to be able to wear it, he had to be able to fight in it,” Reeves said at the DC FanDome event last month. “All of the things about this batsuit is that it’s really realistic. The entire concept is that he made it himself. And then, we have to be able to see if it will work on him and all the ways he might run, but yet making it look like something that was already developing. He’s in year two, even the premise of the plot because he’s been wearing it and now he goes out looking for adventure every night. You look at his cowl and see gashes in it. All that description was an extremely thrilling discussion between me and the costume designers and the participation of Rob afterward.

The Batman is a noir-driven plot that follows up on his crime-fighting career with Bruce Wayne for about two years. The lack of influence he has on crime in Gotham after a string of murders unexpectedly arises at the hands of The Riddler has disheartened a young Bruce Wayne. Lead a course that would uncover hidden truths about his kin, Bruce is compelled to face the corruption that is going on in his city’s shadows, all while attempting to find The Riddler before murdering him again.

The remainder of the cast features the likes of Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as Riddler, Colin Farrell as Penguin, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, and Jeffery Wright as Commissioner Gordon, alongside Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne / Batman. The arrival of The Batman is officially planned for 1 October 2021. Despite just returning to shooting, production was brought to a grinding halt when Robert Pattinson tested positive for Pattinson after the Dark Knight himself. Fortunately, new news show that Pattinson is on the way to rehab, with the studio expecting to “very soon” return to shooting again.
